Notes on Printing from the Site
using Netscape Browsers Version 3 and Newer

Printing documents from Netscape may present some confusion or difficulty. This page explains the source of this, and how to overcome it.

This site allows users to customize the appearance of documents in the user’s own browser. The default color scheme for the site includes white text on a black background.

When using the default colors, or, when using white (or any light color) to display text, printing from from Netscape will generally require an extra step. Netscape’s default print settings attempt to produce a printed page identical to the displayed page except the background is ignored. Thus, white (or light) text will be printed as white (or light) without the background color that is in your browser. In other words, white on white.

There are two ways to overcome this:

• In the Netscape menu bar, select “File” and click on “Page Setup.” On the Setup page, select the options you prefer. RECOMMENDATION: Under “Page Options,” select “Black Text”. This method will cause all pages you print from your browser to use black for text until you change the settings otherwise.
